Timo Habermann\u2019s long-awaited comeback finally becomes reality. After a 6-year break, the 3-time FIA European Top Methanol champion from Germany will be back in action at The Main Event, round one of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Santa Pod Raceway. And although being out of competition for so many years, one thing is for sure, the Werner Haberman Racing driver will immediately be a force to be reckoned with.<\/p>\n
There was a time that the two Werner Habermann Racing drivers, brothers Timo and Dennis Habermann, were the men to beat in the FIA European Top Methanol (Dragster) Championship. In 2015 and 2018 the two brothers scored a one-two in the Championship with Dennis claiming the title and Timo finishing in second position. Timo claimed the FIA European title in 2009, 2010 and 2017! But after taking part in only one round in 2019, the corona pandemic caused a longer break, extended by business and family that took all their attention.<\/p>\n
But the Werner Habermann Racing team still had the two dragsters in the workshop and once a dragracer, always a dragracer. Last year\u2019s NitrOlympX was the first indication that there was some good news coming.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter a 6-year break, we got asked by the people from the Hockenheimring to make some show runs last year. And it was a lot of fun to be back on track,\u201d said Timo Habermann about the comeback. \u201cWe haven\u2019t changed a lot on the car, just played a bit on the fuel system and we hope that pays off. We already started with it in Hockenheim last year and showed a strong 5.37 second run on the Sunday afternoon when the weather conditions were at worst. We want to give our best at The Main Event and see how we do and how far we come. Then we will also see what the plan for the rest of the season will be, also with Dennis\u2019 car.\u201d<\/p>\n
