As part of his personal school project, 15-year-old Yannis Weyland has built an extraordinary vehicle: the world\u2019s first two-seater junior dragster. Through this project, the young motorsport enthusiast combines his passion for drag racing with a desire to give other children special experiences.<\/p>\n
The idea arose from his experiences in the junior dragster scene. In collaboration with Sven Klut\u2019s Junior Dragster School, the vehicle is intended to provide a safe introduction to motorsport for children who have not previously been able to drive themselves \u2013 including those with special needs or unfulfilled motorsport dreams.<\/p>\n
Over several months, he single-handedly transformed two damaged junior dragsters into a completely new two-seater racing car. After around 92 hours of work, a high-performance two-seater dragster was built from old vehicle parts.<\/p>\n
The power comes from a typical junior dragster engine: a 473 cm\u00b3 single-cylinder four-stroke engine, fuelled by methanol and delivering around 55 PS.<\/p>\n
The finished Junior Dragster Two-Seater was tested for the first time at the Jade Race in Wilhelmshaven and subsequently handed over to Sven Klut and the Junior Dragster School. There, it will provide many children with unforgettable moments on the race track in future.<\/p>\n
A special appearance is planned at the NitrOlympX in Hockenheim, where this extraordinary vehicle will be on display. Depending on approval and the circumstances, there may even be an opportunity for the two-seater to undertake demonstration runs there and prove its capabilities.<\/p>\n
With a great deal of personal initiative, support from sponsors and a passion for motorsport, Yannis Weyland has shown that a personal project can go far beyond simply building a car: it can bring people together and make dreams come true.<\/p>\n
