The management of boxer Urvashi Singh from India has cancelled the planned title fight against Melina Maibaum for reasons that are currently not clear. The team has already travelled home.<\/p>\n
The responsible association WBC and Hockenheim-Ring GmbH as the organiser were informed of the cancellation on Wednesday evening. Hockenheim-Ring GmbH deeply regrets this step and reserves the right to take legal action. The WBC has already imposed sanctions against Singh, including the revocation of the WBC title.<\/p>\n
Despite the boxer’s cancellation at short notice by her management, the promoter and the association have succeeded in finding a suitable opponent for Melina Maibaum. Kerstin Wiedermann will now step into the ring on 24 August 2024 to fight for the WBC International Super Bantamweight title.<\/p>\n
