Ida Zetterström made the Top Fuel Olympus shake with her furious Top Fuel debut in the first round of the European Drag Racing Championship in Santa Pod.

In her first season in the premier class of drag racing, she already made history by breaking the time barrier with a new European record of 3.782. This was the first 3.7 time ever set in Europe for Ida and her team. In the end, she had to give up the victory of the first championship round to her competitor Antti Horto, but with this record in her pocket, it only hurt half as much.

For connoisseurs of the scene, this terrific start was not quite as surprising as it seemed at first, because Ida’s drag racing career is not a “From Zero to Hero” story, but began at the age of eight in a Junior Dragster. By 16, she already had her Super Comp license. In 2017, she started competing in the male-dominated Super Street Bike class, and just under 2019, she became the first woman to ever win a Super Street Bike championship with her “Lucky#13” machine.

Records and best times then paved the tracks to her absolute dream goal: Top Fuel!

In 2021, the Finn began her “Top Fuel License” project, which she completed with the fastest license run ever of 3.862 seconds.

Her personal motto “Everything I do, I do to get better”. Zetterström will have to prove this in her first appearance at the NitrOlympX and we can already be curious where the path of this new star in the drag racing firmament will lead.
